OMFG, im going to be a dad again in 7 days ! Yes Mrs StuC has been booked to have a c-section on the 22nd December!

This does mean not much coding once he/she has arrived but I will endevour to get as much done as possible Just glad rocky and the bedroom are out – its nice watching the download counter go up and think – “if only that was £1 for every download……”

Other news – I dropped my iphone4 and smashed the screen ! – In the middle of Boots the Chemist dropped onto a tiled floor, goodbye screen !. Not funny in the slightest, but would have been if it were someone else.

All my xmas shopping is complete, its nice having a wife thats on maternity shes done a grand job of sorting them all out. Granted most of it was done online but still needed someone to wrap them all up – hehehehe thanks Mez !

Secondly is a little Xmas release, an 80s themed room that you can view in glorious 3D whilst listening to slayradio or a selection of SID tunes (selectable in game)

I started Spriter way back many, many years ago as there weren’t any affordable sprite drawing and animation tools.

There were some D-Paint-like tools starting to emerge, but some felt a bit cumbersome to use and none had any usable animation support in them.  I also wanted some features I was used to in Photoshop, such as layers.  So the idea for Spriter was born.

It was written in a language called Jamagic, which had a rich set of drawing commands and the power of required to make Spriter work.

Unfortunately, Spriter has never been completed.  Partly because there was always a game remake to do, but also due to the maturing of tools out there all will much better animation support in them.  My favourite of these tools for bitmap animation is Graphics Gale which achieves most of what I wanted in Spriter.  I also recommend Anime Studio which is a vector graphic animation tool.  Both are truly wonderful graphics applications.

Above is a screenshot of my beloved Spriter.  I keep going back to it every now and again but I doubt I’ll ever finish it.
